How about this idea can you make a checklist that the beginner can print out and keep close to their Router System. How about a checklist about making the box joint set up, installing a router bit or setting up to make a linear dovetail cut. Here’s an example Checklist:
How To safely mount a router bit in a table-mounted router:
1) Unplug the router,
2) Remove the router from the table,
3) Position the wrenches to loosen the collet,
4) Loosen the collet,
5) Remove the router bit and place it in the storage system,
6) Select new router bit and place into collet,
7) Tighten collet and set the height of router bit,
Re-position router in table.
Please Note: Only plug-in the router after you have completed the set up process.
Hey, what is needed out there when it comes to having good information about learning the many uses of the router. John has given me the idea of getting a series of beginner checklists that are used to help someone new to routing get the feel of the process.
