Folks,

My intent is not to dwell to long on this topic but I have been given more questions that I feel needed to be answered. See the questions below:

1) What if I want/have to Cancel?

This is a “monthly subscription” and you are expected to pay for what you consume so if you watch for 30 days then cancel the cost is $10 for the first month. $6 to set the account up and $4 for the first month or $1. per video released.

If you watch one or two videos then decide to cancel you will get $10 full refund back no questions asked. Further to this you have so many sample free videos to decide if this is for you or not. The shows are just more of the free video tips. There are no binding clauses like in the cell phone business and as long as this website and I are on the Internet the service will be here. You can watch as much as you want at any time of the day.

2) If I cancel, what Kind of refund can I expect?

To confirm this is a per month subscription like your cell phone but without the contract. We are presently charging a $4.00 monthly subscription or $1.00 per episode released and there are no limits on the number of times you watch each show. It’s that simple…once the episode is released to your account it is considered delivered and paid. You can watch it as many times as you want when ever you want.

3) The price is too much for us beginners, What other options might you have?

I have never thought of the concept of video material just for the beginner but hey maybe sometime in the near future I can extract video clips just for the beginner and create a program just for that purpose. This router enthusiast was also concerned about the price? How about $5 one time fee for “the 10 most skills needed for the beginner.” I want to get those beginners down to the business of routing.

4) I am on a fixed income and disabled. I can afford either Wood or your information. What is the best choice?

Well my answer to this is that you should be able to afford both. This is not something that I have published in the past but on occasion I have been able to give accounts to the Router Workshop Video Series. This is for those who want  to still woodwork but can’t. This doesn’t mean that I give these accounts out freely but if you fit in this category and want to explore the options add your comment in this post. I will not publish the comment but will contact you and discuss the process.

5) Do I need a PayPal account?

This is a subscription and this kind of account requires you to have an account with PayPal. These are used to make the monthly payments. PayPal collects the fees, updates your member account on my website and deposited the money into my account and this is done all automatically. The agreement allows you to cancel at anytime and once canceled you will not be charged any further. Please Note, PayPal is secure and safer than giving you credit card to the server in your local restaurant.

I am confident that once you start you will enjoy the shows like the rest of our customers. We have been running this website since July 2008 with very few cancellations and many rave reviews.     This is the rock bottom pricing right now…it’s a buck per episode and with that you can watch as many times as you want…Rick

    I have the six DVDs offered by Oak Park (100 thru 600).

    Does one have the option to select desired series/segments?

    Or is one required to ’start’ at number 101, (or a segment of 101)?

    The membership starts at episode 101 and then goes in sequence 101, 102, 103, etc…Rick

    I feel the subscription is well worth the money… had some problems with drop-out from my wireless network during download but thanks to Rick I think I have them worked out. Thanks for noticing and keep up the good work. Curious to know what the make of your router is?

    Unlike the TV program program picture quality…your ‘Tips’ are very dark and not as clear as the TV program. Is this the quality we can expect for a paid subscription?

    On the other hand, your business model (Pay-For-View) seems a bit off base for the content… Why arn’t you getting your revenue from advertisers rather than viewers? Is “The Router Workshop” no longer being aired on TV stations?

    The sample video is the same as the episode info in the paid membership.

    As for your other questions,

    The underwriters have all ready put up the money to produce the video and air it on TV…and we are not currently trying to get TRW on the TV airwaves.

    The fees for viewing on the Internet is our membership model. It comes from those that want to see the show again and understand that it takes a lot of effort and $$$ to maintain the website. I don’t want the hassle of getting underwriters to support this website with free viewers.

    Personally I don’t think giving videos over the Internet is beneficial to any underwriter so we have this pay per view model instead.

    One buck per video is almost free and it is good only until January 31, 2010.

    just a question about the videos you offer. Are the videos that are released the same as the samples such as in the length of the videos or do they give more information or go more in depth than the sample videos. I ask this because sometimes the samples seem to cut off quickly almost like there is more to the video. thank you in advance for your response and I would like to add that I have learned alot just from the samples and am contemplating joining soon.

    The samples are excerpts from the TV shows, which are the videos that are complete end to end without being cut off or talk about just one small topic.

    The price for the router videos is very fair,even to the extent of cheap. Stop and think a majority of videos about anything that contain woodworking can cost you from $9.95 to $19.95. One should remember this is a hobby ,not a necessity. Some might say that they can not afford it. If you smoke cut back or just quit. If you are a coffee drinker give up going to the coffee shop every day. If your a drinker cut back going to the bar. Look around where you live for places that are being torn down and possible ask about some of the scrap lumber laying around. If you are a true woodworker there should be no issue here. Remember gentlemen there is no such thing as a free lunch.

    The price for membership is reasonable. It is admirable that you do provide memberships for those who truly cannot afford to pay the monthly fees, and understandable that you must limit these very strictly to those with true problems and not just those who think they have problems. Perhaps you could institute a “pay per view” method, though that may be too much overhead for you to make it possible; people forget that you aren’t getting rich doing this, but are charging to cover costs and your time at what is probably a very low rate. I know in the past, before the internet was nearly as big as it is, I tried running sites and could not manage the time required to do it right. The instant I was late with anything, due to circumstances beyond my control, I was blasted by users as though I was stealing from them! I understand you must manage the time you devote to the web site, and hope others will appreciate that also.

    Keep up the good work, even though some will always criticize you no matter what you do. It is usually the critics who write messages; those who are happy generally don’t write, so you can assume that for every critic, there are many happy customers who visit your site often.

    Good luck, and I hope you stay on the internet for a long time. There aren’t any woodworking shows any more, like there were just a couple of years ago, at least not in my area (Utah), so anything online which I can access is important. I haven’t joined because I don’t have time for it yet (I am starting a new company), but I will join eventually.
